"Tap"penings for the 20-21 season

While the COVID-19 pandemic has greatly impacted our season, we are determined to keep moving forward.  Here are just a few of the projects we're working on this season.

"In due time"

premiere performance

For our premiere of "In Due Time," the moSTLy TAP dancers and musicians have recreated some of The Dave Brubeck Quartet's most notable tunes from the "Time Out" album series, along with some other Brubeck favorites.

The Dave Brubeck Quartet featured Dave Brubeck (piano), Eugene Wright (bass), Joe Morello (drums), and Paul Desmond (alto sax).  The musicians are best known for their experimentation with uncommon time signatures and polyrhythms in their tunes.  Their most recognized track as a quartet is "Take Five."

"In Due time"

student program

The Student Program rehearsals have begun!

The program was developed to provide the opportunity for aspiring young artists to be involved in the process of show production.

Dancers from all over the St. Louis area were selected to the program by audition in Spring 2020.

During the 20-21 season, dancers will work with members of moSTLy TAP to learn and perform original choreography and assist behind the scenes at the moSTLy TAP Premiere of "In Due Time," A Live Music and Tap Dance Tribute to The Dave Brubeck Quartet.

moSTly tap in the classroom

As school teachers everywhere navigate a school year that will is certainly unique, we want to show our support for their hard work.

We've created brain breaks as well as rhythm and movement classes that can be accessed online.  These activities are available for free to K-12 teachers to share with their students, whether virtually or in the classroom.

These are great for any school subject!

If you are a school teacher and would like access to these activities, click the "Contact Us" button at the bottom of the page and share your name and what grade you teach.
